Our English students give presentations in class to practice. Every day, someone sings. Tonight, Moises surprised us by bringing in instruments. He played the piano and Enrique played the guitar for "Imagine." Everyone joined in. I admit it. I got choked up.
This is my favorite post. I've watched and listened probably 8 times and still cry. It is what the trip, and the program is all about. Cudos to Geneseo in helping to make this happen and to their continued dedication and support. I just read an article ranking Geneseo as top value in public college education. This program is a good demonstration of why they deserve this rating. Please pass my gratitude and congratulations on to the leaders, sponsors, teachers, students participating from Geneseo and to the English class in El Sauce. Thank you for sharing this with us and allowing us to see goodness being shared in the world.
From Nicaragua to the College Green, On Scene shares the compelling stories we are working on for the next edition of the alumni magazine. Stay tuned...
Managing Editor Kris Dreessen dislikes desks. She’s much happier exploring our history and getting to know our students and alumni to tell the Geneseo story. An award-winning writer and photographer, she’s never without her pen or camera.
